Solar homesAlkupro worked on solar homes for Nobutec and supplied them with a span construction of steel, aluminium and glass. The glass span over the houses is used to save energy. This unusual way of using greenhouse materials in housing also posed a few challenges. The building had to be watertight, even in the heaviest rains, but still provide enough ventilation. The solar homes’ biggest plus is really for the inhabitants. They maintain contact with ‘open air’ for the greatest part of the year and the houses have wonderful light. Very happyNobutec is very happy about their co-operation with Alkupro. “We see Alkupro more as a partner than a supplier. I expect many Alkupro clients feel this way.” Inside gardenAnother special project by Nobutec is the inside garden at Stork, which has a greenhouse covering more than 10 metres high. The glass front wall makes the garden completely watertight, but still keeps the garden very transparent. Alkupro supplied the necessary aluminium to Nobutec and supports this client in large, small and special projects. InventivenessAlkupro offers all kinds of applications for the construction industry, depending on the inventiveness and needs of clients. An aluminium greenhouse covering is not always aesthetically pleasing, but can be interesting for its price. Even walls of 10 metres high are feasible (photo Stork). Think, for example, of a decorative membrane wall in a standard colour or anodised. Another application could be for the ventilation of a shed or barn. ^ up |
